a-step
A curation platform featuring expert-selected videos on autism and developmental needs,
helping users navigate complex information with trusted guidance
It can be challenging for people with developmental disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorder, to find information that is both right and reliable. There is an overwhelming amount of content available online, which often leads to feelings of being lost about what to look at and confusion caused by false or misleading information.
How can we support them in watching and absorbing trustworthy videos?
In collaboration with the Jeju National University Hospital Developmental Disability Center, child psychiatrists, and experts in child development, we designed a-step, an application that curates videos carefully selected by professionals. Through the recommended video lists, users can easily find high-quality and trustworthy videos that match their needs and interests. If they are not sure which topics to start with, they can also follow preset curriculums we have created. Finding the right videos is important, but watching them effectively is just as crucial. To support this, we provide key summary notes for each video, created using NotebookLM, and a note-taking feature that allows users to freely write down their thoughts and what they have learned while watching. Through this platform, we aim to help individuals with developmental challenges watch reliable content with confidence and feel less overwhelmed by the vast amount of information available online.
